There is some really exciting news in Florida real estate! A few weeks ago, Florida Housing Department announced that they are releasing a grant that gives homebuyers in Osceola county and a few others $15,000 to use towards closing costs or down payments. Here are a few of the requirements to qualify for the $15,000 grant:
* Property being bought must be your primary residence
* You must live in that property for five years
* Property must be in Osceola county (or four other counties throughout the state)

Keep accessories to a minimum and don't have family photos out
When getting ready to sell your home, it is vital to mentally prepare yourself for moving on to the future. This will help in many ways. It is important to celebrate all the many memories that happened in what was your home, but also start to look forward to the future. Once you prepare to sell a home, it is no longer your home, but a model house for sale.
When selling a home, you hear all the time that you should depersonalize the space. It is so true. The moment that a buyer sees who is already living here, it is hard to picture themselves in that same space. This means to remove all family pictures, kid's artwork, and other precious memories you treasure. Smaller picture frames and fridge art can be packed. We have buyers tell us all the time they want to see a property but they are not pre-approved yet. They haven't even been pre-qualified (a quick check with a lender to estimate what a buyer can afford).
Currently, we are in a seller's market. This means there are more buyers than there are houses available. There are certain price points that are getting contracts on the same day they are listed. Pre-approval is such a vital step and should happen before looking at properties, especially in a seller's market. It shows that you are a serious buyer. But there are other reasons to get pre-approval.
First, some listings require pre-approval before a buyer can even see the property. This is especially true in higher price points.
